Mindfulness-Based Stress Management

Course description:
Mindfulness-Based Stress Management is an eight-week course that will help students learn about mindfulness, mindfulness-based exercises, and a variety of meditation practices that can help reduce stress. The course meets once per week for eight weeks, for a total of 16 hours.
Weekly classes meet for 2 hours live via Zoom. Sessions will include mindfulness meditation practices, group discussions, gentle movement, reflection practices, daily homework, and related class readings.
Cost: $400.00
This course is open to ALL Public Safety & Public Service Personnel
*Must be a currently employed public safety employee to attend.
*California POST Certified; provides California POST Credits to those applicable
*Qualifies to be submitted for CLEST hours approval through the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.

Course description:
Students who attend Dispatchers Wellness will learn concepts and applications of simple mindfulness tools to help with stressors of the job and increase wellness and resilience.
Research shows that among its many benefits mindfulness can help reduce stress, reduce emotional reactivity, and increase the ability to participate in the present moment. Created specifically for dispatchers taking into account the stressors of the job.
Cost: $125

* Accredited through the State of New Mexico; provides NMLEA training hours to those applicable
*Approved for CEU Hours by the Alabama 911 Board

Course description:
Students who attend Dispatcher Customer Service will learn customer service knowledge and mindfulness tools to aid in providing services that are more efficient and effective, while also being able to minimize burnout.
By implementing the knowledge learned in this course students will be able to better take care of themselves as they provide improved customer service to the public and the public safety personnel they interact with.

Science of Wellness
for Dispatchers

Students who attend this class will learn concepts of wellness and the science behind the benefits of mindfulness and wellness practices. While also learning the science of why the work of public safety dispatching is so demanding and understanding the scientific research on the correlation between the nature of the stressful work and wellness.
Created specifically for dispatchers taking into account the unique challenges of the profession.
